Food for Life Volunteers prepare to hand out Summer Fun Boxes outside St. Luke's

Food for Life Brings Summer Fun Bundles to St. Luke’s and North Oakville

Last week, our friends at Food for Life visited St. Luke’s to hand out some of their summer fun boxes! These are boxes full of delicious food items and fun toys for outdoor family activities. Food for Life has been distributing the boxes and offering cool activity ideas in partnership with Halton Food for Thought.

Food for Life is a food recovery program that has been working around the Halton Region to bring fresh and nutritious food to people in need since 1995. The summer fun boxes are one of the programs they have been hosting this year to support our community, especially the families of HDSB and HCDSB students, as we get through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Food for Life is also welcoming new volunteers this fall to help pack their fresh food bags for programs across the region. They rely on teams of great volunteers to help pack and distribute their food around Halton. If you are interested in helping local food initiatives like St. Luke’s Nourishing Neighbours program, email emily@foodforlife.ca and get involved! Thank you to Food for Life for supporting our community members and to the amazing volunteers who helped bring some fun to Oakville families!
