The Rotary Club of Oakville Donates to the Nourishing Neighbours Program
St. Luke’s would like to give a huge thank you to the Rotary Clubs of Oakville, Oakville West, Trafalgar, and Passport South (Oakville)! These Rotary Clubs came forward to support our Nourishing Neighbours food program with a donation of $3,000 this week.
Our Nourishing Neighbours program grew from 45 users per week to 95 users per week once the COVID-19 lockdown began. When we needed extra funds to support this growing need among people in our community, we applied to the Oakville Community Foundation for funding. We were honoured when The Rotary Club offered to fund our application with them.
The funds provided will be used to purchase additional food items such as fresh meat and proteins, bread, eggs, baby formula, sanitation products, and other items for community members in need.
The Nourishing Neighbours volunteer team and everyone here at St. Luke’s are extremely grateful for the contribution. Thank you to our community as well for their continued support as we continue through this challenging time. We hope you all continue to stay well!
